Custom Wood Lake Map Policy

1. Payment & Ordering
  • Full Payment Upfront: Payment is required in full at the time of ordering before any digital design work or wood cutting begins.
  • All Sales Final: Because each map is custom-designed and laser-cut for your specific lake, all orders are non-refundable, and we do not accept returns or exchanges.

2. Design, Proofing & Scale Limitations
  • Digital Proof: Within 7 business days of your order, you will receive a digital layout proof via email showing the lake layers, shoreline, and any custom text or icons requested.
  • Simplification of Fine Details: When a large lake is scaled down to fit your chosen map size, micro-details such as tiny islands, narrow channels, minor points, and shallow depth layers may be omitted or simplified.
  • Laser & Structural Limitations: The laser-cutter cannot safely cut wood pieces smaller than a few millimeters without burning or breaking. To ensure structural durability, our designer will use professional judgment to streamline intricate coastlines and combine or remove microscopic islands.
  • Artistic Representation: Our topography maps are intended as beautiful, artistic representations of your lake, not official navigational charts. We guarantee a recognizable, high-quality depiction of the lake, but we cannot guarantee the inclusion of every individual landmass or minor depth variance.
  • Included Revisions: Your purchase includes up to two (2) rounds of minor text or icon adjustments during the design phase. Major design overhauls or changes requested after production starts will incur additional fees.

3. Non-Responsive Customer ("Auto-Approval") Policy
To keep our workshop on schedule and ensure timely delivery for all customers, we enforce a strict communication window:
  • 72-Hour Response Window: You must reply to your design proof email with your approval or requested changes within 72 hours of it being sent.
  • Automatic Production: If we do not receive a response within 72 hours, the design will be considered automatically approved as-is. Your map will move immediately into the wood-cutting and assembly phase, and no further changes can be made.
  • Shipping Delays: If you explicitly request to put your order on hold, your shipping date will be forfeited, and a new delivery window will be assigned based on our current workshop queue.

4. Natural Wood Variations
  • Unique Materials: Each map is crafted from natural wood. You should expect variations in grain patterns, wood knots, and how the wood takes the blue/green water stains. These are not defects, but unique characteristics of your custom art piece.
